BIRTH explores the benefits of natural childbirth and the dangers mothers and babies face in today’s high-tech, drug-filled maternity care environment. Mothers who gave birth with drugs and other medical interventions, and subsequently birthed their babies naturally, compare their experiences. Childbirth experts share valuable information and enlightening insights about birth as well. When a woman considers having a baby, education helps replace feelings of fear with confidence and empowerment. This documentary will interest everyone because birth affects us all in one way or another.
Women in this documentary were assisted with their birth by obstetricians, a physician or surgeon qualified to care for women giving birth, and midwives. A midwife, typically a woman, is also trained to assist women in childbirth and includes hands on assistance during labor, delivery and postpartum. This documentary not only educates but also empowers women to regain their confidence and to know that their bodies are designed perfectly to have a baby. more...
